When Catchup turns Ketchup, we get 'Yaaran Da Katchup' - a story of 3 college friends Hardy Gill (Hardy Sandhu), Arjun Singh (Anil Juneja) and Fateh King (Varun Sharma).

Simrat (Anita Hassanandani), Sukhbir Singh Sohi aka SCube's (Jaswinder Bhalla) daughter falls for brawny Arjun and gets married to him. However, there love is short-lived and is interjected by widower Sohi due to his whimsical behaviour.

Gill, a singer gets married to Nona (Yuvika Chaudhary), a super rich businesswoman settled in Thailand running a restaurant chain. Hardy is always looked down upon by Nona and she's always doubting Hardy's fidelity.

Fateh is continuosly rejected by girls - he proposes for marriage, due to his eccentric dressing sense and mannerism. As a result, he gets engaged to Arjun's Boss' ugly niece. Things take a turn at the engagement ceremony, when Sohi's babbling lands

Arjun in soup as Sohi insults his Boss (Vijay Tandon) for his obesity and his niece's looks. To add insult to injury, Arjun is fired by his Boss.

The story takes a twist when Hardy reminds Arjun and Fateh about the promise they made in College to each other to meet every 7 years whatever may be the circumstances. Arjun makes an excuse of Gill's sickness to his wife, Simrat to visit Thailand. Fateh naturally accompanies him and Sohi is sent as an escort by Simrat to keep a check on boys' philanderings - if any.

Even Nona sends her friend Gabbar (Rana Ranbir) to spy on her hubby and report any infidelity by Gill, who feigns visiting Singapore for a business meeting.

Though Arjun and Fateh make an attempt to escape the eyes of Sohi, they all end up checking in the same hotel owned by Sharma (BN Sharma) whose Manager is Ranjan Sehgal. Lo and behold, Ruby (Shagun Jaswal), Sharma's daughter and Fateh fall for each other much to the chagrin of Sharma.

In the meantime, Arjun's ex-boss also lands up at masseur, Harjinder (Kruti Popat) parlour in Thailand where Sohi is already trying to impress her.

Things seem to be going hunky-dory till Fateh takes a promise from his friends to somehow arrange for his wedding with Ruby with the help of Sharma's lookalike, by abducting Sharma and instead making his lookalike take his place.

There follows a drama and commotion, when Fateh's wedding is to be solemnised with Ruby at a Thai Temple. There's a huge merry- go-round during the climax when fate makes Simrat and Nona also land up at the climax. Amidst confusuion, there follows a laugh riot for which Punjabi movies are quite famous for.

The movie is full of confusion; and twist and turns, thanks to the tight script by theater artist, Rubina. The dialogues are superb and Jass Grewal needs to commeneded for lacing the movie with excellent situational humour.

All the songs of the movie fit the plot and are quite hummable. The cinemtaography lacks at some places in the beginning but the Direction of Abhay Baiju Chabbra takes the piece of cake.

Being Hardy Sandhu's debut, he was lacking but he shall sure mature with a few projects. Anil Juneja was ordinary except for his chiselled body. Varun Sharma of 'Fukrey' fame was excpetional and he is expected to make a great career out of movies.

The role of the female leads is limited and nothing to write home about. A better female actors could have ensured more footfalls.

Jaswinder Bhalla and BN Sharma were as always, exceptional and even Vijay Tandon and Ranjan Sehgal did full justice to their respective roles.

Overall, a pleasant family movie and a must watch for the lovers of music, humour and Punjabi cinema!
